Manufacturing Technology at South Seattle Community College

This program provides practical technician-level training in current theory and practices common to all fields of manufacturing technology. All of the 1993 competencies and standards recommended by Washington State's Manufacturing Technology Advisory Group (MTAG) are incorporated into courses available in this program. These programs are designed to prepare competent technicians for entry-level positions in the broad field of industrial manufacturing technology.

The program draws from various manufacturing-related certificate and degree program. Students are required to complete a common set of technical, allied support and general education courses to ensure a thorough understanding or manufacturing processes and to prepare for advanced work in at least one specialty area.

Engineering Technologies at South Seattle Community College

Engineering Technicians play a key role in implementing designed solutions to technical problems. The Engineering Technology program at South Seattle Community College provides students with a solid background in mathematics, physics, and applied engineering, as well as skills in problem solving and creative thinking, technical communications and leadership. The program is designed for the individual who wants to focus more on practical design and detail, and less on theory and systems engineering.
